DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION CENTER

The Library promotes student success through the development of critical thinking and independent research skills, and advances in teaching and learning by supporting instruction and professional development.

Shri Gavisiddeshwara Arts, Science & Commerce College Library provides services, collections and facilities to support the educational goals of students and employees. Members of the public are also welcome to use the collections and facilities. Student Identity cards are available to all the Students & Staff of the College. The Library selects materials in a variety of formats to support courses and programs as well as materials which are more general in nature and which support the educational goals of the College community. The Library also collects material relating to the people and communities of the Shri Gavisiddeshwara Arts, Science & Commerce region to help preserve the local historical record. Online access to many licensed research databases, e-journals and e-books is available at our campus. Campus library has study areas, access to computer workstations, library circulation and reference services, and computer printing and photocopy services.

GENERAL INFORMATION :

1. Issues Identity and Borrowers card to all students.
2. Identity Card is a must for library transaction.
3. Book Borrowing facility –Faculty -15 books, UG Students 03 Books, PG Students 05 Books.
4. Renewals are allowed only once on the exact due date and when there are no claims by others.
5. Borrowed books should be returned on the exact due date failing by which a fine of Rs.0.50/Paise per book per day would be charged.
6. Losses of borrowed books have to be reported immediately in writing to the librarian and replace the same.
7. Reference Books, Periodicals, MRP Work & Project reports will be available for reference only.
8. Students and Staff can refer Reference Books, Periodicals, MRP Work & Project reports within the library by surrendering their Identity card.
9. Books should be handled with great care, and mutilation of books in any manner.
10. Special provision of issuing complete set of books for SC/ST, Handicap students and Meritoriouspoor students is practiced.
11. If Student lost their I D card he/she can take duplicate I D card on a payment of Rs.60/-.
12. A borrowed book, if recalled by the librarian has to be returned immediately.
